Fish Creek in the desert – we were there! Well… actually we were at Fish Creek Wash but who’s keeping score anyway? The Wiktors and a two other couples decided to do a little desert camping over the weekend. Saturday we headed up to the Anza Borrego desert with a tent and a dozen bottles of beer.

The topography/landscape was pretty cool; a surprising number of things to see considering you are in the middle of nowhere. Did a little 4WD cruising on Saturday night and checked out the Elephant’s knees and the Wind Caves on Sunday. The Wind Caves were especially cool; giant holes/caves in the sandstone made by the wind blasting the rocks with sand over a million years or so. On the way home we swung through Julian to grab some world famous apple pie.
