Merry and Bright

It was a beautiful white Christmas in Minnesota and such a blessing to be surrounded by so much love during the holidays. The season was kicked off with the Case/Wiktor holiday party. Despite all the months of planning, days of cooking and hours of last minute preparations it is always a huge success and this year was no exception. Cooking in preparation for the party is one of my favorite holiday events — who could resist this spread?!?!

As usual, Christmas Eve was spent in Rochester and we enjoyed our traditional lobster bisque and fondue dinner. Rachelle even joined us from Michigan and planned a fun Williams Sonoma gift exchange. After a visit from Santa on Christmas morning it was time to go to Minneapolis for some Fairall family fun. It was a relaxing day filled with gifts, food, games…and more food.

The fun of the holidays spilled over through the rest of the visit. A trip to the Guthrie, time spent with friends who we rarely see AND a shower for baby Wiktor. Oh, and we can’t forget Lucy Pickles. Lucy made the trip from California to Minnesota for the holidays. I think she adjusted to the snow rather quickly and had fun with all her furry friends in Rochester and Minneapolis.

With all the love and joy surrounding us during the holidays I couldn’t help but reflect on what a great year 2010 was. Here’s to 2011 – it’s sure to be just as great!
