Now that we’re somewhat settled in, it is time to explore the area. We took advantage of a good deal on a hotel and took a day trip up to Annapolis this weekend. Fun city with a bunch of history and a boat or two. We got an insider tour of the Naval Academy, ate some crabs, ate some ice cream, and waddled back to the hotel on the first night.

The next morning we hopped on a boat tour of the harbor and Severn River which was a big hit with the kids. While we didn’t go for broke with the 6 lbs milk shake at Chick & Ruth’s Delly, we did share the “small” 16oz variety and couldn’t keep Sophia from crushing all the pickles for lunch. We closed out the day with even more crabs. Cantler’s Riverside Inn (the crab joint from the first day) wasn’t bad but nothing beats eating a bushel of crabs straight from the steamer on a picnic bench with a handful of friends and a bunch of beer.

While it was a little on the warm side (and we almost lost our DSLR), we had a great time and will certainly make another visit to Nap-town in the future.
