Out and About

We’ve had a pretty mild winter which has allowed us to get out and do some exploring on the weekends. On one of Mumsie’s last visits we drove up to Maryland, just past Andrews AFB to check out Watkins Regional Park. All I knew about the park was that it had a Wizard of Oz themed playground but it turned out to have so much more. There was also a farm, nature center and lots of nice walking/biking trails. In the summer there is a miniature golf course and train ride so I have a feeling we’ll make another trip.

We found ourselves with another nice weekend in February and spent the morning at Mount Vernon. It was aptly timed since both kids had spent the last few weeks learning about Presidents’ Day at school. Watching the blacksmith and running around on George and Martha’s backyard were definitely the kids’ favorite part of the excursion.
