After a busy April, it was hard to lump May’s happenings into a particular theme or provide some summary of a capstone event for the month. So maybe the theme is just making stuff… like smiles, food, drink, and memories big and small with my favorite people on Earth: my family!

As spring rolled into summer in Stafford it meant longer days and more baseball. Between hectic work schedules and busy extracurricular schedules, even the Wiktors cheat on dinner occasionally during the week. There should be a little room saved in everyone’s diet for the occasional three-foot pizza and/or a $2 Little League hot dog! I can’t bring myself to cheat on the bartender so the cocktails are still made fresh daily and in-house.

On the weekends we still slow things down a bit. Bagels have become a near weekly occurrence as it’s easier (and tastier) to whip them up in-house than it is to head up to our (former) favorite spot up in Alexandria. Poor Lucy is slowing down a bit as well. Some days she is her usual, tail-wagging self, but other days, her near-17-year-old age shows a bit. Beds are harder to get into and harder to get up from. Walks are a little slower. That said, Lucy still puts a smile on our faces and we’re happy to have her as the fifth Wiktor on the team.

I suppose I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the METALLICA CONCERT Will and I went to at the end of the month! M72 Tour. Northwest Stadium. Spectacular. Good mix of new songs and old songs. It was Will’s first concert and I was pumped to share the experience with him. Okay June, whatcha got in store for us?
