While this post is far from poetic, if you spent any time with me in October you probably heard me drone on about much I love this time of year in Virginia. The weather is glorious, the leaves are changing, and we get to enjoy plenty of outdoor fun.
October was made even better this year with a much anticipated visit from Bill and Elaine. While we did get out for some site seeing with a day trip to Monticello and Charlottesville, we mostly soaked up quality time around home. Bill and Elaine tagged along to a few of Will’s baseball games, we enjoyed some walks through the trails in our neighborhood, and cooked up some delicious food. Sophia even baked her first pie with some help from Lainey & Grandpa. Unfortunately I hardly have any photos from their trip – guess they’ll just have to come back again soon!

Sophia was inspired by her first pie baking endeavor so the next weekend we ventured out for some apple picking. It was towards the end of the season but we still managed to snag some good apples.
In between our fall adventures we soaked up lots of slow moments – strolls in the woods, more pies were baked (plus a few loaves of sourdough and bagels), cappuccinos were enjoyed, and we even crammed in a last minute family photo session. October, you were good to us!
