So keeping in the spirit of new things… us Wiktors just bought a new house. Concurrent with our training for Mt Whitney, we also had been spending a great deal of time looking for a new place to call home. Our rental was nice but we were looking for something a little larger and something we could call ours. To make a long story short, offer was accepted on 11 April and we closed escrow and picked up the keys on 12 May.

The house is a great first home for us. Plenty of space including a great kitchen and huge backyard (especially for CA standards). Why the delay in the announcement you ask? Well… the intent was to move in a get the place somewhat “picture ready” prior to a formal announcement. Well… 6 weeks later I’m here to tell you we still have a ton of work to do. We’ve spent pretty much most evenings and weekends doing some sort of house related task and there still is a bunch to be done. I did manage to nerd out one evening and even make a Google Sketchup of the house. Awesome right? The electrician is coming later this week to install a bunch of recessed lighting, all the trees and bushes are getting ripped out and we’re putting in a retaining wall this weekend, new sod will come mid-July, and new windows will round things out in August. Busy, busy, busy.
