Fini! Well at least the wall is done. It started out as a one weekend project but that didn’t quite go as planned. Three separate weekends with three trips to Home Depot to rent a jack-hammer and it is finally done. Of course by “it” I mean the wall. There’s still the sod, the landscaping, the patio, the pergola, the fire pit, the vegetable garden, the… I’m not holding my breath. One thing at a time right?

Dad (Bill) and Elaine came out to visit for a few days and while I was hesitant to put them to work on their vacation, they insisted. Turns out this was the much needed extra bit of help that allowed us to finally finish the wall. As an added bonus we got another room in the house painted and a handful of other odd tasks scratched of the to-do list.

While we didn’t go on any wild adventures, we did what is often the most enjoyable activity: eat, drink, and be merry. Dad kept our bellies full with great meals on Thursday and Friday night and we had a great dinner out after a hard day of work around the house on Saturday. Too bad they couldn’t have stayed for another week!
