Well, DC is back in bloom again. There’s always some resistance from the scrooge in the family to go check out the cherry blossoms but eventually (and thankfully) Meredith wins me over. This year marks our third straight showing at the Tidal Basin for the big cherry blossom bloom. This year we timed it right and hit the peak bloom. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a cold and breezy day but we made the best out of it and enjoyed it nonetheless.
While we did see a few pink trees, strangely most of the blossoms seemed rather white this year. Call in an arborist if you’d like the reason behind it because I haven’t the faintest idea why. At any rate, it is pretty wild to think two years have gone by already but we’ve had more smiles than frowns here so we haven’t much to complain about other than the seemingly rapid passing of time. A few clicks brought me back to the first time the whole family was there back in 2015. Sophia has gotten a bit taller but they still are my favorite ladies! Until next year…
