To Mumsie’s house we go! Our nephews, Thomas and Benji, were spending a few days at Mumsie’s so we took advantage of the fact that they were a short car ride away and drove to Bassett for the weekend. The kids were excited and it’s always great seeing them hit it off each time they’re together. We don’t get to see each other nearly as often as we would like to.
We got in late Friday night so Saturday morning everyone woke up early excited for the party to start. Mom on the other hand was just ready for coffee. After our usual Mumsie breakfast (pancakes!) we headed out to show Thomas and Benji the big park in the area. After running around and getting some wiggles out we headed back to refuel at Mumsie’s house before our afternoon adventure. Mumsie had a science project planned which involved a walk through the woods, collecting some water and taking it back to the incubator to see if E. coli would grow. Don’t worry, we weren’t actually having a bunch of 5, 4, and 3 year olds play with super yucky bacteria…we left before any sprouted.
After our walk in the woods we all enjoyed some down time at the house before the much anticipated bonfire dinner and marshmallow roasting. A must if we’re visiting Mumsie in the spring! Sunday morning we parted ways again with hopes that we could have a big family reunion again soon!
