Another fine Turkey Day is in the logbooks! Thanksgiving was a welcomed, quiet, and long weekend off work and school for the whole family. We had some visitors from afar join us for the weekend and we still had too much food. A light lunch left room for the main event. Turkey, stuffing, salad, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, and Mere’s homemade rolls! Nobody left the table hungry and there was leftovers for days.
The following morning, a round of cast iron cinnamon rolls was on the breakfast menu in case people had room for extra calories and then it was some long overdue family time. We even grabbed a Christmas tree and got it decorated with minimal fuss (and only one trip to the store for more lights). No travel plans yet for December; we’re holding our breath and hoping for a quiet Christmas together next month.
