Home for the Holidays

We didn’t think it would make in on the calendar this year with all the other travel and change but at the last minute, we agreed to head back to Minnesota for Christmas. Travel back home always goes by too quickly but it is always puts a smile on everyone’s face. Once we landed in MSP, we headed down to Rochester for the usual festivities: small parties that are big, lobster races, small periods of peace and quiet, and cousin time galore.

As is always the case, there were no real winners at the lobster race. Not a tear was shed about all the crustacean losers because it meant another year of fantastic bisque. The 18 of us made quick work of the wonderful meal and turned to the pile of presents.

With Rochester in the mirror, it was back up to Minneapolis to spend time with the other half of our dear family. Round two of gifts, round two of too much food, round two of smiles, and even a trip to the ice rink. What’s better than frozen water outside in Minnesota? As the trip wrapped up, we looked back at the fond memories, looked down (at our feet) to see at least one of us had been fully exhausted, and then looked forward to 2020, eager for the next opportunity to spend time with our loved ones.

See ya next year!
