So we arrived in Santa Fe around 1ish today. We had plenty of time to explore this little sleepy town and kinda liked it. It was much smaller than we had thought (only 70,000 or so people live here) but there was a nice little downtown area full of shops and local street vendors. Tomorrow…

Hello “R-Kansas”
Who knows why Arkansas isn’t pronounced “R-Kansas” but it isn’t. Two things we do know is that a) the Clinton Presidential Library should stay open past 5pm (we got there around 5:07 and missed it) and b) the River Market area of Little Rock is pretty neat. There seems to be a lot of fun…
Goodbye Pensacola
Movers came on Tuesday and the whole house was packed in about 8 hours; 78 boxes in all! On Wednesday the movers returned and packed the entire house (including the 78 boxes) onto a semi truck. We scrubbed and cleaned all night and hit the road Thursday. Meredith and I have quite the road-trip planned. …
Time on Target…
Last Monday was far from the last flight I’ll fly in the Marine Corps but it was the last flight I flew as a student naval aviator. I officially finished flight school; no big deal… In a few weeks I’ll pin on my wings of gold and then it will be off to the fleet. …
Lucy joins the family
So it’s a bit of a late post but better late than never… Lucy ‘Pickles’ Wiktor joins the family. We got her in mid-December. Here’s a shot of her first bath; she’s having an awesome time if you can’t tell.
Off to the high seas

Happy Birthday Marines
Yut, yut! So the Marine Corps’ birthday isn’t until November 10 but we celebrated it early this year. We had our birthday ball on Saturday and it was a great time!
Attack of the killer jellyfish
Well maybe “killer jellyfish” is a bit of an exaggeration considering they were already dead but if they had been alive… So Mere and I headed down to the beach for the fourth consecutive weekend (I wonder what our parents have been doing in the 40 degree Minnesota weather) and there were tons of these…
A weekend on the Blackwater
To make a short story long… We had a tent, a great tent in fact, but one of the seams blew out on it so it stopped being great in a hurry. Sent the tent back to Mountain Hardwear and they sent us a newer and even better tent (hooray!). Ever since the replacement found…
Washington and the crabs
So we took a brief trip out to Washington DC for Labor Day. We spent a little time in Cumberland, MD, and then headed to the city for a few days. It was nice to get back to one of our favorite cities. We both have fond memories from DC when I was stationed in…
